Last Saturday the Cross Country teams went to Van Buren to compete against different schools across Arkansas. Some of our junior high and varsity runners did not run in this race, due to the fact that they are competing at Lake Hamilton this coming Saturday, October 22nd.

The Bentonville High school Junior Varsity boy runners finished in 2nd place in the large school division. Finishing in 13th place out of 78 runners, Gabe Smith was Bentonville fastest runner with a time of 18.22 minute for the 5K distance.

The BHS Junior Varsity girls finished in 3rd place for the large division category. Audrey Brown finished first place for the team with a time of 22.44 and in 18th place out of 44 runners.

The Junior High boys division raced 2 miles and the team finished in 4th place. Our fastest Tiger, Nathan Palmer, finished in 8th place out of 232 runners with a time of 11.56 minutes.

The Junior High girls team finished in 7th place in the large school division. The fastest runner was Christa Davenport with a time of 14.57 and 25th place out of 157 finishers.

Altogether, the Bentonville High School Cross Country teams competed hard over one of the slower courses on the schedule. Even though some of our team members were missing, the other runners stepped up and ran their hardest.

The next race for BHS XC is at Oak Lawn this Saturday.
